Cornerstone’s annual “Ladies Banquet” will be held Saturday, May 7, at 12 Noon. The meal is prepared and served by the Men of Cornerstone, and a brief program will follow. We hope all women and girls will attend this special day to honor you!
What a wonderful day we had yesterday as we celebrated the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Between our Sunrise Service and our regular Morning Worship Service, we had almost 300 people in attendance. About 150 people came for Easter Breakfast, which was cooked by a group of men from our church. They did a fantastic job, and the fellowship around the tables was a great blessing!
I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to make Easter Sunday a very special day in the life of our church! Stan Neely and the Choir did a wonderful job of leading us in music as we lifted up the name of Jesus!
The Resurrection of Jesus is at the very core of our faith, and is the heart of the Gospel. Because Jesus lives, Eternal Life is available to all who will call on His name. That is true every day of every year! So, share the Good News as you go through the course of your life – “He is not here. He is risen – just as He said!”
Easter Sunday is a glorious day! We celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. He is alive! That profound truth changes everything. We hope you will spend the morning with us – all or part of it – in celebrating the Risen Lord. Here’s the schedule:
As you can see, it will be a great morning! It will be even better if you join with us to lift up our Savior who loves us, and who is alive today!
The last step of our flooring project is being done this week. The two stairwells on the middle of the second level are being done this week. A coat of polyurethane has been applied today. As a result, we will not have the Children/Youth Classes tonight, February 24, because the classrooms are close to the area with the strong polyurethane odor.
We WILL still have our Fellowship Meal, Prayer Meeting and Choir Practice for Adults.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Due to the winter weather that has hit the area this morning, we will not have Sunday Services today, February 14.
Our parking lot has a layer of freezing drizzle underneath sleet and snow. It was slick when I did a test run. So stay home if you can, be warm and have a great Valentine’s Day! See you Wednesday and next Sunday to worship the Lord!
We will not be having GROW tonight, February 9, or Wednesday Activities this week, February 10, due to more work being done on our new floor. One of the final sections of our floor on the mid-level, in front of the Sunday School office, is being done this week, and applications of polyurethane will be applied. That creates a very strong odor in the building, so we will not have activities this Wednesday. Our Business Meeting will be moved back one week to Wednesday, February 17.
Thank you for you patience in this process and for your support of the Lord’s work at Cornerstone! Stay warm and have a great week. We’ll see you Sunday to worship the Lord!
Based on the video series by Charles Swindoll, this Bible Study clarifies what God desires for His children, making each quality come to life through Peter, Joseph, David, and Daniel. God’s expectations of us only lead us toward the lives we really want . . . and enable us to enjoy the rewards of a life well-lived!
Let me say thank you to everyone who jumped in and worked so hard yesterday morning to help clean up the water mess we found when we entered the church Sunday morning early. The first people there found about an inch of water on the mid-level of the building from the Small Fellowship Hall area all the way down the main hall toward the elevator. As it turned out, a pipe had leaked in the wall behind one of the urinals in the Men’s Restroom.
We had many folks bring their shopvacs and work at getting the bare floor dried up. The lingering problem now is that all the classrooms along the east side of that hallway, as well as the Choir Room and the Nursery had water in it, and several carpets are soaked. We have a company here now working on thoroughly drying out those classrooms and the areas that were affected by the water.
Your good spirit and your willingness to help is such an inspiration! We were able to still have Sunday School, although it required moving some folks around. Thank you for you patience and your cooperation. A good motto for life is, “Be flexible!” We are sure getting plenty of practice at that together in recent months!
It’s at these times that the power of God in His people becomes most evident. When we face difficulty, disappointment or challenges, how do we react to them? He wants us to react with hope and with faith! As we trust Him, we know He will provide all that is needed to do what must be done. Thank you for displaying hope and faith – not only yesterday – but day after day!
We have decided to cancel Church Council and GROW for tonight, January 19, due to the Winter Weather Advisory that has been issued. Snow is expected to be falling this afternoon and tonight. Stay warm and safe!
