Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16)
Philosophy
Music is a gift from God to be used for His glory. We seek to return this special gift by glorifying God, using our talents to make music that reflects positively on the One who is the source of all good gifts. Our desire is to worship Him “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24), “uniting our voices in praise” (2 Chronicles 5:13) “of the Lamb who alone is worthy” (Revelation 5:12). Therefore, as stated in Psalm 150, all people should praise the Lord with music, either through congregational singing or through instrumental and choral groups. As emphasized in 1 Peter 4:10-11, we as Christians have a responsibility as well as an opportunity to use the many talents God has given us.
Diversity
Everyone has his/her preference in music. Music may be fitting, favorite, or familiar; it may be effective, impressive, or elevating; often this depends on the listener. With the diversity of music at Cornerstone, everyone can hear his/her favorite, be it traditional or contemporary, classic, standard, or gospel. Your requests are always welcome, and we try to honor these as we have opportunity.
