Services & Activities Paused for 15 Days to Join Coronavirus Battle

Dear Church Family,

This is an unprecedented time for our nation, our community, and our church.

President Trump and the Coronavirus Task Force on Monday, March 16, 2020, strongly urged that there be no gatherings of 10 or more people for the next 15 days in an effort to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). I said last week that we would continue with our Church Services and Activities until or unless our Leaders and Health Officials asked us not to. That moment has arrived.

I have consulted with our Deacons and we have made the difficult decision to suspend our regular church services and activities in an effort to do our part to protect our members, our community and our nation. Let us pray that these 15 days will be a turning point in the battle against the Coronavirus. We will reassess the situation after these 15 days have passed.

We will provide an online worship service on Sundays at 10:30 am using Facebook Live. You can go to the Cornerstone Facebook Page (facebook.com/cornerstonejeffcity) to view the service. The video of the service will also be posted on our Cornerstone Church Website (cornerstonejeffcity.org) once the service is completed, and you can view it there anytime.

We will use the Church Facebook Page and the Church Website to communicate daily as this crisis progresses. You will be in my prayers, and you can always call me if you need to talk or if you have a need. The fact we are pausing our meeting together for this time does not mean we are ceasing to be a church family.  Stay close to the Lord, and let Him use your life to be a blessing to others.

Our church must continue paying bills during this time. So if you can mail your tithes and offerings to the church (4930 Old Lohman Rd, Jefferson City, MO 65109), or bring them by during this time, it will be a great blessing. In fact, one of our fine deacons suggested that on Sundays from 9am-12nn, we have the front door open and an offering plate just inside the door. If you would like to just drive by and drop off your offering and return home, you can do so. We hope to have an online giving option available very soon. We’ll keep you posted about that.

Remember the words of Jesus: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”John 14:27

You are a wonderful people, and it is an honor to serve alongside you in times such as this. May God bless you and take care of you.

Your Pastor,

Brian K. Credille
