In the wake of the horrific assassinations of five police officers in Dallas, Texas, and as part of the Concord Baptist Association, Cornerstone is dismissing our normal Evening Worship Service, July 10, in order to join with our sister churches in a special Prayer Service to support Law Enforcement in our community. It will be at Concord Baptist Church on Truman Blvd., at 6 PM, Sunday, July 10. This service is our opportunity to show support for those who put their lives on the line to serve and protect us and to defend the rule of law in our society.
Those wishing to ride the bus/car pool over to Concord can gather at Cornerstone at 5:30 PM, July 10. We hope to see you there.
Vacation Bible School 2016 is over, but we know the impact of it will go on for years to come – for an eternity to come!
We had an enrollment of 160 for the week and had two children pray to receive Christ as Savior and Lord! A third child told us they had prayed at home to receive Christ recently! So, that alone made it a wonderful week.
We know many seeds were planted in hearts and minds, and God will continue to water those seeds. We believe, by faith, that in His time, there will be a great harvest that will result from what happened June 5-9, 2016 at Cornerstone! Thank you to all the teachers and workers who made the week possible by your sacrifice and service. A special thank you to my wife, Rose, who spent countless hours planning and preparing for the week as Director. To God be the Glory!
Online Registration is now available for Vacation Bible School 2016! Just go to our VBS page to see the details about VBS 2016, or register by clicking the link below! VBS will be held June 5-9, from 5:45-8:30pm.
Cornerstone’s annual “Ladies Banquet” will be held Saturday, May 7, at 12 Noon. The meal is prepared and served by the Men of Cornerstone, and a brief program will follow. We hope all women and girls will attend this special day to honor you!
What a wonderful day we had yesterday as we celebrated the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Between our Sunrise Service and our regular Morning Worship Service, we had almost 300 people in attendance. About 150 people came for Easter Breakfast, which was cooked by a group of men from our church. They did a fantastic job, and the fellowship around the tables was a great blessing!
I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to make Easter Sunday a very special day in the life of our church! Stan Neely and the Choir did a wonderful job of leading us in music as we lifted up the name of Jesus!
The Resurrection of Jesus is at the very core of our faith, and is the heart of the Gospel. Because Jesus lives, Eternal Life is available to all who will call on His name. That is true every day of every year! So, share the Good News as you go through the course of your life – “He is not here. He is risen – just as He said!”
Easter Sunday is a glorious day! We celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. He is alive! That profound truth changes everything. We hope you will spend the morning with us – all or part of it – in celebrating the Risen Lord. Here’s the schedule:
7:00 AM – Easter Sunrise Service
8:00 AM – Easter Breakfast (cooked by the men of the church)
8:45 AM – Indoor Easter Egg Hunt for Children
9:30 AM – Sunday School for all ages
10:30 AM – Easter Worship Service – featuring inspiring music
(No Evening Worship)
As you can see, it will be a great morning! It will be even better if you join with us to lift up our Savior who loves us, and who is alive today!
The last step of our flooring project is being done this week. The two stairwells on the middle of the second level are being done this week. A coat of polyurethane has been applied today. As a result, we will not have the Children/Youth Classes tonight, February 24, because the classrooms are close to the area with the strong polyurethane odor.
We WILL still have our Fellowship Meal, Prayer Meeting and Choir Practice for Adults.
Due to the winter weather that has hit the area this morning, we will not have Sunday Services today, February 14.
Our parking lot has a layer of freezing drizzle underneath sleet and snow. It was slick when I did a test run. So stay home if you can, be warm and have a great Valentine’s Day! See you Wednesday and next Sunday to worship the Lord!
We will not be having GROW tonight, February 9, or Wednesday Activities this week, February 10, due to more work being done on our new floor. One of the final sections of our floor on the mid-level, in front of the Sunday School office, is being done this week, and applications of polyurethane will be applied. That creates a very strong odor in the building, so we will not have activities this Wednesday. Our Business Meeting will be moved back one week to Wednesday, February 17.
Thank you for you patience in this process and for your support of the Lord’s work at Cornerstone! Stay warm and have a great week. We’ll see you Sunday to worship the Lord!
Based on the video series by Charles Swindoll, this Bible Study clarifies what God desires for His children, making each quality come to life through Peter, Joseph, David, and Daniel. God’s expectations of us only lead us toward the lives we really want . . . and enable us to enjoy the rewards of a life well-lived!
